Franco Public Relations Group Partners With Jack Horner Communications To Recruit Patients For Clinical Trial

DETROIT, August 19, 2002 -- Franco Public Relations Group (Franco), a Detroit-based full-service public relations agency, is joining forces with Pittsburgh-based Jack Horner Communications, to recruit patients in the metro-Detroit area for a clinical study on treatment options for patients who have Type II diabetes with coronary artery disease. The partnership was developed through Worldcom Public Relations Group.

Worldcom is the largest network of independent public relations firms in the world. This project marks the first collaboration between Franco and a Worldcom partner since Franco was accepted into the network at its annual meeting in Rome this April.

For the next several months, Franco will work alongside Jack Horner Communications to recruit patients for the recently launched BARI2D (Bypass Angioplasty Revasacularization Investigation Type 2 Diabetes) clinical trial. The scope of the work also includes the evaluation of promotional materials at recruitment sites, the identification of marketing opportunities for the BARI2D trials, a media relations outreach to publicize the trials, and special physician events. Patient recruitment sites for the clinical trials include Henry Ford Hospital and St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.
