Franco Public Relations Group Expands Offices
in Renaissance Center
Longtime Public Relations Firm to Remain In Downtown Detroit

DETROIT, Oct. 1, 2002 – Franco Public Relations Group (Franco), a Detroit-based full service public relations agency, recently renewed a lease to expand its offices and remain located in the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.

Franco has had its offices in the Renaissance Center since the Detroit landmark was built in 1977. The 73-story high skyscraper is now the global headquarters for General Motors Corp. Franco will begin its expansion on the 10th floor of the Renaissance Center’s 400 Tower as part of its 10-year lease extension.

“The decision was easy,” said Franco President Maria Leonhauser Rosenau. “Franco not only has an historical connection with downtown Detroit and the Renaissance Center, but is involved in much of the growth and expansion taking place in the region and views Detroit as the hub of this exciting activity.”

In addition to retaining its current office space in the 400 Tower of the Renaissance Center, Franco is immediately taking on an additional 1,000 square feet intended for additional office space, which brings its total to 9,000 square feet. Franco also has an option for the remaining space on the 10th floor.

Recently, Franco has added more than six new clients to its roster, including the GM Motor Club; RE/MAX; Dearborn’s Ford Community and Performing Arts Center; Sunoco MidAmerica, Inc.; Early Warningtm Healthcare Institute; and The THAW Fund.

“The Renaissance Center has come a long-way during the past few years of renovation by General Motors, and offers tremendous amenities to all who work here,” said Chuck Watters, vice president of Hines, the leasing and property management company for the GM Renaissance Center.. “There are excellent opportunities for successful organizations, like Franco, to become part of our exciting Renaissance Center community.”

“Our employees and clients definitely appreciate the first-rate amenities available in the Renaissance Center,” said Dan Ponder, Franco’s chief executive officer. “I’ve worked in this facility for over 20 years and must say, both Detroit and the Renaissance Center are at an all-time ‘positive momentum’ high. We are proud to continue our investment in both of them.”

Established in 1964, Franco offers a complete range of communications services, with programs that incorporate media relations, crisis management, employee/member relations, community relations, public-affairs consulting, trade-show support, executive communications training, event planning and management, and corporate-identity development. Franco represents regional, national and international clients in such areas as manufacturing, technology, associations, non-profits, retailing, professional services, entertainment, health care, and financial services.
