Dealing with the News Media
 |

Since 1984, business executives have turned to Franco Public Relations Group for intensive media
training.
Franco's training session, called Dealing with the News Media, is conducted for individual executives and small groups of corporate leadership. Seminar versions for larger groups are available as well.
This program focuses on specific tips to help news makers take control of media interview situations; feel comfortable and confident with reporters; and get their stories told, rather than a reporter's preconceived notions of the story. It is shaped to the specific needs and issues surrounding each participant.
Dealing with the News Media includes a presentation on how to handle interviews, videotaped comments from print and broadcast business editors, and realistic videotaped interviews and critiques with each participant to help improve executive performance in news interviews.
|
In this program, participants learn:
- 24 ways to prepare for and conduct themselves during a news interview
- 10 of the most common mistakes executives make with the news media
- 15 ways to make a news story more newsworthy
- 13 important differences between print and electronic media in the way they gather and report
- news
- 11 ways to deal with hostile reporters and "ambush" interviews
- 5 ways to deal with uninformed reporters
- 23 tips on how to conduct themselves in a news conference
- 30 techniques to use specifically in TV and radio news interviews
- 8 important facts about deadlines
- A dozen of the toughest questions reporters may ask during an interview.
Each session is led by Chief Executive Trainer Stephen Friedman. He is a veteran executive trainer; TV, radio and magazine journalist; public relations executive; and award-winning corporate video producer.
