Emagine Magic in Detroit

Spring is always busy here at Franco and this May was no different as members of our team made time for bowling, networking, shooting and more! See what we got up to this month in this edition of Franco on the Town:

Elizabeth networked at the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s Annual Meeting held at Eastern Market.

Rene, James, Jen and intern Rachel helped Emagine Theatres run the high school Hush Reel Video Contest. This month, the winners were announced at an Oscar-style premiere party. Students from across metro Detroit attended the event, walked the red carpet and enjoyed snacks while viewing all the entries.

James and Joe attended a special softball game hosted by Comerica Bank and Detroit Police Athletic League at Calcara Park in Detroit. Detroit police officers and kids enrolled in PAL youth baseball and softball programs swung for the fences as they celebrated the completion of the new field and the start of the 2017 PAL season at the park. The field at Calcara Park was renovated with a $25,000 grant from Comerica Bank.

Jen supported a men’s fashion segment  at Fox 2 Detroit with Hour Detroit Magazine and models from The Group!

Rachel and the SMDI team coordinated and supported the Great Designs in Steel event by handing out collateral, running the media center and creating social media content.

Adriane connected with fellow PR pros at the speed networking event hosted by NBPRS Detroit and PRSA Detroit.

Mary took a quick break from the Salvation Army Doing the Most Good Week Bed and Bread Truck ridealong to take a selfie with Rob Stone from WYCD and Mr. Taylor from the Salvation Army.

Rachel supported Mark Wallace, founder of Wallace Detroit Guitars, at the old Belle Isle Sawmill for a WXYZ interview promoting the 2017 PwC Grand Prixmere presented by Chevrolet. Wallace donated a custom guitar made out of wood from the Belle Isle Sawmill for the auction.

Intern Rachel, Jen, Elizabeth, Pat and Geoff represented Franco at the PRSA Detroit Bowling for Scholarships fundraiser benefiting local students looking to further their education in the public relations field.

Joe and Marie participated in a clay shoot benefiting The Salvation Army.

Andrea spent the afternoon hanging out with the Detroit Tigers wives on The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread truck, as part of the nonprofit’s Doing the Most Good Week. The wives took shifts throughout the day on the Bed & Bread truck serving Detroiters who would otherwise go without a meal. The Bed & Bread program serves more than 4,000 meals each day and provides shelter to 450 people every night. Adriane and intern Rachel were inspired by a Detroit Symphony Orchestra popup concert at The Skip.

Dan headed down south to the Texas Auto Writers Association Texas Auto Roundup event this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin to support our client, SMDI.

We delivered magical media drops to all of Hour Detroit’s Best of Detroit winners.

The Franco team took a walk downtown Detroit for lunch and were all inspired to share photos of the city on social media.
