Between grand openings and announcing the winner of $50,000 from Comerica Bank in the Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest, the Franco team had a busy August, but we still managed to have a little fun. Here’s what we were up to in August:

Franco CEO Dan Ponder visited with different GMRENCEN tenants to learn more about health and safety during the second GM Global Health & Safety Fair. The GMRENCEN team planned a weeklong event dedicated to health and safety to make safety personal!

Macomb County has a brand new store – Cabela’s! Joe and Kellen were front and center helping with media relations and the ribbon cutting.

Rene and Lauren spent their Friday night helping announce the winner of $50,000 from Comerica Bank in the 2017 Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest. The Lip Bar, Detroit Blows, Baobab Fare and Bar Botanica (the contest finalists), answered questions from judges after they pitched business plans to a panel of judges and an audience of their peers.

Rene and Lauren took a break from media relations at the Hatch Off event before Baobab Fare – a restaurant specializing in East African cuisine – was announced the $50,000 contest winner.

Franco staff joined the hype and visited the GM RiverFront to witness history – the 2017 eclipse –with protective glasses of course!

Team building at its finest! The Franco team split in two and solved puzzles at the Escape Plans in Detroit’s Penobscot. Only the Science Lap Alpha Only team (pictured above) escaped and the other is still Trapped In A Room With A Zombie.

Franco joined forces with client Life Remodeled and volunteered to help clear shrubs, cut overgrown bushes, mowed lawns and more near Durfee Elementary School in Detroit.

Ann Marie, Elizabeth and Joe networked and learned about autonomous vehicles with fellow PR professionals at the PRSA Autonomous Driving Event at the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights.

There was a nerf war on the set of TV20! Lauren stopped by with Hatch alumni Connor McGaffey owner of Detroit Dart Club and Vittoria Katanski of Hatch Detroit to discuss the Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest before Ann Marie LaFlamme and Malcom Maddox battled it out.

Adriane and Rene said goodbye to August with a relaxing rooftop yoga class hosted by the GMRENCEN in partnership with RenCen Fitness. Namaste.

It was an eventful August. We can’t wait to share what we fall into this September.
