Senior Integrated Communications Specialist
“Media Relations Maestro “
Jeff Sell is a Senior Integrated Communications Specialist who provides media relations knowledge and expertise on behalf of Franco’s nonprofit and consumer clients.
Since joining the Franco family in 2018, Jeff has worked on major client projects like Hospice of Michigan’s Give a Quarter Back Campaign, the launch of Buddy’s Pizza in Grand Rapids and The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division’s Red Kettle Campaign and Bed & Bread Club Radiothon.
Jeff comes from a television broadcasting background and has valuable insight into the stories newsrooms are looking for. Prior to joining Franco, he worked as an executive producer at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, as well as a news producer at both WXYZ-TV Channel 7 in Detroit and 9&10 News in Cadillac. With more than six years of experience in television news before making a career change to PR, Jeff loves talking about how the two industries intertwine and rely on each other. His background and work as a news producer and media relations expert has led to his proudest work accomplishment yet – landing a front-page, above the fold feature article in the Sunday edition of the Detroit Free Press for client Hospice of Michigan.
Though he’s worked across the state, Jeff is inspired by the people of Detroit and has always loved the downtown area, particularly Campus Martius. In his free time, the self-described family man can be found spending time with his wife, son, daughter and dog.
A proud alum of Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!), Jeff holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in broadcast and cinematic arts, as well as minors in both journalism and sports studies. He is also an active member of PRSA Detroit and holds a media relations certification from Muck Rack.
